Ingledew’s Asks Brandspank To Help Put It’s Best Foot Forward.


Vancouver based Ingledew’s Shoes have recently selected retail marketing agency Brandspank to be their branding & marketing partner of record. After a year-long, informal ‘getting to know each’ process, a few small projects and, eventually, an insightful marketing presentation, Ingledew’s felt that Brandspank was, indeed, the ideal fit for their brand. And, with 95 years of retail shoe experience, they know a thing or two about fit.

As part of its mandate, Brandspank will redefine and refocus the Ingledew’s brand to make it a more relevant and recognized establishment for purchasing high quality, fashionable shoes. This will be done by developing a strategic branding blueprint (The Brand Plan) to identify and promote its unique point of difference and leverage its existing areas of strength – excellent selection of sizes. Once The Brand Plan is complete, Brandspank will use it for the foundation of all future marketing executions – including advertising, promotions, loyalty programs and online presence.

However before the branding could begin, Ingledew’s had some immediate needs – the launch of their biggest sale in their 95 years. With little more than 2 weeks to develop and produce the campaign, Brandspank created the “Sale In The City” event – a multi-media campaign featuring print, broadcast, online, and store signage. The result? Ingledews, most successful sales numbers to-date. Even better, it resulted in numerous accolades from Ingledew’s ownership, management and frontline staff.

But the success of the “Sale In The City” was truly a team effort. After all, Ingledew’s provided the platform – “every shoe on sale”. From there, Brandspank simply needed to develop a message that would best communicate the offer AND appeal to a demographic that would normally not consider Ingledew’s. All in all, everyone really stepped-up to make it the success it was. [And yes, the pun was certainly intended].
