Sony Transforms its Retail Stores
from Retail Customer Experience - June 15th, 2011
According to The Wall Street Journal, Sony Corp. is giving its retail stores an overhaul, incorporating a fresh, light and airy feel.
In April, Sony opened a store, in the Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles that reflected the new look with hardwood floors and simple, bright light fixtures.
Sony is making the move in an effort to differentiate its computers and televisions in the minds of buyers, while still reinforcing the company's broad range of products. The Sony shops will also provide in-store tech support, classes and other services.
"Direct stores are the only place where we can bring the whole story together for the consumer," said Phil Molyneux, president of Sony Electronics in the U.S.
